Magna Science Adventure Centre is going prehistoric this summer, with the return of its popular dinosaurs for the Dig, Dino, Discover programme, running from 18th July to 4th September 2026.

The summer season kicks off with Ferocious Fridays, seeing RentaDinosaur return with their live interactive show “How to Train Your Dinosaur.” The show will run on 31st July and every Friday throughout August (7th, 14th, 21st and 28th), with performances at 11am and 1pm. A different dinosaur will make an appearance each week, bringing surprise and excitement for returning visitors.

Visitors to the popular visitor attraction will also have the chance to get up close and personal with the cretaceous crew. Throughout the day, dinosaurs will stomp their way through Magna’s building, welcoming head pats, hugs and photos with visitors of all ages.

Alongside the Friday shows, Magna will host a full programme of dinosaur-themed activities throughout the summer holidays, including:

  • A Volcanoes Workshop, where children can build and erupt their own model volcano while learning the science behind this natural spectacle.
  • A Fossil Dig Workshop, giving budding palaeontologists the chance to handle genuine fossils and take part in a hands-on dig site.
  • Dino Story and Play sessions for under 5s, combining storytelling with imaginative free play.
  • Dino Crafts sessions, where young visitors can make their own dinosaur models, puppets, hats and feet.

The summer programme also includes access to Magna’s existing attractions, including the family-favourite Aqua-Tek splash park, Sci-Tek Adventure Playground, Under 5s STEM Play and more.

Emily Walsh, Magna’s Family Learning Coordinator said: “We are so excited to invite you to Dig Dino Discover at Magna this Summer! With a different dinosaur stomping through our doors each week, alongside the super engaging ‘How to Train Your Dinosaur’ show, we are ready to have some dino-mite family fun this summer!”
