Get up to Speed with STEM 2025

What is Get up to Speed with STEM?

Get up to Speed with STEM is a live, annual showcase event which aims to introduce, inform and inspire young people, educators, parents and carers about the world of work in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Manufacturing (STEM) sectors.

It’s a superb, highly interactive careers showcase, celebrating its 15th Anniversary in 2025, during which time it has promoted STEM-related career opportunities to over 45,500 individuals from across the Sheffield City Region and beyond.

Each event sees Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham filled with fun and interactive exhibits from both local and national employers, to present their businesses, their industries and their employment opportunities.

For the first time, in 2025, Get up to Speed will be held over two days at Magna Science Adventure Centre. Wednesday 19 March will be the traditional full day focused on secondary age and above young
people (11 years to 25 years). On the morning of Thursday 20 March, the event will be open exclusively to primary-aged young people (ages 8-11) and those young people with Special Educational Needs and
Disabilities (SEND).

Get up to Speed with STEM is an ideal platform to bring businesses together to promote and celebrate the sector’s success. The event gives companies the opportunity to showcase their services whilst helping to address the skills gap in STEM-related industries by demonstrating to young people how a STEM career can become their future.
