Client: Peaty’s Bike Bonanza
Event Size: 1,000 attendees for a one day trade show
The Brief: Peaty’s Bike Bonanza is THE marketplace for people to buy and sell new and used bikes, bike parts and a whole world of other cycling paraphernalia. Started five years ago by champion downhill mountain biker Steve Peat, nicknamed “Sheffield Steel” or more commonly just “Peaty”. Nine times British champion with a staggering 17 world cup wins, Peaty is a sporting legend and started the event to give biking amateurs and professionals the chance to come together to catch a bargain from large and independent bike retailers and manufacturers from across the UK and even as far afield as Dijon, France. With all that kit and equipment on display, easy direct vehicle access was essential as well as plenty of space to spread out to view the bikes.
The Solution: For the second year running Magna’s huge 2000sqm Big Hall was the perfect venue, allowing traders to easily access the space through the massive roller shutter doors located at street level. A mixture of bespoke corporate stands were set-up alongside traditional table top sales. The in-house lighting rig perfectly complimented the setting, creating a modern mood whilst spotlighting the stallholders and their merchandise. Always hugely well attended, Peaty’s Bike Bonanza is a popular annual event with heavy queues building up well in advance of the doors opening. Magna’s event team worked closely with the organisers to implement queue management systems to ensure a smooth transit for customers, stall holders and organisers alike.
Client Feedback: ‘Another fantastic event for us at Magna. Having reached capacity at our previous venue, by moving to Magna we now have the space to grow year-on-year. The location is brilliant, convenient and great free parking. We love it at Magna, so much so we’ve already booked for next year!’ Richard Burgoin, Peaty’s Bike Bonanza
