Are you getting married next year? Is planning your big day turning you into Bridezilla?

On Sunday 1st October, we’re inviting brides-to-be and their friends and family to our bi-annual Wedding Fayre where you can browse some of the region’s best wedding suppliers and make planning your special day that bit easier.

Our sales and events manager, Becky Gill gives her top tips for being stress-free while planning your big day:

 1. Look after yourself

It’s important to make time for you, so why not book a spa treatment or arrange afternoon tea with friends to take your mind off things. Exercise has positive emotional and psychological effects, so if you haven’t already upped your pre-wedding workout routine, now is the time. Go for a walk, cycle to work, or join a dance class to boost your mood.

 2. Spend quality time together

The pressure and stress of planning a wedding day can also mean you lose touch with the person you love the most – your groom-to-be. Plan a date night once a week to spend some quality time together and talk to each other if you have any concerns about your upcoming nuptials.

 3.Don’t be afraid to delegate

As efficient as you may be it’s impossible to handle everything yourself. To make your job easier ask friends and family to sort the invitations, create favour boxes or run errands.

4.Try meditation

With so much to plan, it’s normal to feel overwhelmed. Help manage your worries by focusing on the in-and-out cycle of your breath for just a few minutes a day, or when you are lying in bed at night. This will help to slow your heart rate and relax your muscles.

5. Visit a wedding fayre for ideas

There is so much to think about when planning your big day, but what if you could find all of your wedding requirements under one roof? Head to your local wedding fayre to get inspiration; from wedding and bridesmaid dresses, men’s formal wear and wedding accessories, to venues, photographers, cakes, florists, caterers, music, photo booths, and travel agents for your all-important honeymoon, or help with booking a holiday abroad.

We would love to see you at our fourth Wedding Fayre on Sunday 1st October from 10am to 3pm.
