Magna's very own Molly May Charlesworth has successfully made it to the final round of The Rotherham Advertiser's Apprentice of the Year Awards 2016!

The final day, held on Monday 20th June 2016 at Rotherham Town Hall, requires all finalists to take part in a panel Q&A session, prior to the awards ceremony later in the day.

Molly has been working hard this year as team leader of Magna in the Brathay Challenge, which pits competing teams of apprentices against each other to be crowned regional then overall team winners, supported by the National Apprencice Service.  The teams compete in a series of work-related challenges to develop new skills, benefit their local communities as well as raise the profile of their employers and apprenticeships.

Molly and the Magna team instigated a campaign to all businesses in the local area and collected an increadible, 400+ donated cans for the RNN Training Food Bank, which is an enormous help to qualifying Rotherham students, enabling them to complete their studies and apprenticeships.

The Magna team, led by Molly and aided by mentor Darren Percival, Magna operations manager, made it through to the Brathay Challenge Finalist Announcements Day held at the House of Commons in May, and placed in the top 15 teams nationally. This was an enormous achievement, due in no small part to the increadible amout of effort Molly and the team put in; alongside their day jobs!

CEO of Magna Science Adventure Centre John Silker said "we are so proud of Molly. Her work ethic is second to none and she has quickly become an integral part of our successful events team here at Magna, taking ownership of the educational side of our charity and developing internal events alongside the team. We very much wish her the best of luck and hope she comes home with the, very well deserved prize'.

Good luck Molly! We are all rooting for you!
