Magna has been shortlisted in the 2019 Rotherham Music Awards in the category of Best Venue. The glittering awards ceremony will be held at Magna on Tuesday 2nd July 2019.

As Rotherham’s largest music venue Magna has extensive experience of hosting live music events of all kinds and sizes. The 2019 events programme so far has included an unforgettable evening of Ska and 2-Tone music featuring Special’s legend Neville Staple Band and The Beat Goes Bang. Over 800 music fans packed out the Big Hall for a night celebrating 40 years of the distinctive musical genre. This was followed up by All Mod Cons in March featuring From the Jam, the world renowned band led by ex-The Jam bassist Bruce Foxton and former The Gift frontman Russell Hastings. Support bands included popular local talent The Mourning After and Martin Black, a gritty folk punk rock singer songwriter from Doncaster.

Every October Magna’s Big Hall is transformed into an indoor German-style beer festival for Oktoberfest which features a night of music and entertainment with a bill of local rising stars including the legendary Oompah Stompers.

Three times a year local based Wired Events take-over the whole of Magna for their legendary indoor music festivals; SpringFest, BaseFest and FearFest each attended by over 6,000 party goers and complete with multiple sound stages and spectacle shows.

Over the years numerous world renowned acts have played at Magna including Dolly Parton, Arctic Monkeys and Pulp.

Amanda Suddaby, Magna Events Coordinator said, “We aim to put Magna well and truly on the music map. We have the perfect venue for live performances. We're so proud to have been shortlisted for the Best Venue award and we know it will be a fabulous evening on 2nd July."
