True to kia motors brand promise of ‘the power to surprise’, magna was selected by laing gale & associates (lga) as the venue for kia motors (uk) ltd’s 2010 annual dealer conference.
The unusual nature of magna’s various environments presented technical challenges, but great creative rewards. Working with magna’s event team and technical suppliers, lga brought kia’s vision for 2010 to life with a walkthrough experience and conference which incorporated two car reveals.
Starting in the red hall, guests arrived for registration and enjoyed hot beverages and pastries.
From here, they moved into the face of steel, where the existing projection screens were used in conjunction with a high definition projected installation, to create multi-screen av with video and supporting imagery. Having been welcomed to the venue and given the background to the event, the guests made their way through the main magna concourse to the big hall for the main conference.
A raked seating block for almost 600 people provided an ideal viewing point of the custom built stage, revolve and flown staging elements. A series of presentations covered kia’s plans for the future, with an awards presentation and car reveals.
The event was extremely well received by all who attended. Despite extreme weather conditions, magna’s event team and technical suppliers did a fantastic job to help ensure the success of the event. The team were always quick to respond, ever helpful and good humoured – a pleasure to work with. Magna offers a flexible environment that is a refreshing break from the ‘norm’. It has the ‘power to surprise’ and as such, was perfect for the event.
